Women in German Faculty Research Award to help nurture and sustain feminist research and publication in German Studies
Proposals should be submitted to email@example.com by December 1, 2016.
All faculty are eligible to apply for the award, but preference will be given to faculty at mid-career, with the expectation that the award can facilitate research leading to promotion to full professor. Applicants must be members of Women in German. One award in the amount of $1500 will be granted.
We seek proposals that address a significant topic with demonstrated relevance to German Studies informed by a feminist perspective. Preference will be given to projects that engage the intersections of gender with other categories such as sexuality, class, race, ethnicity, religion, and citizenship. We also encourage proposals that further the project of rethinking German Studies along transnational lines. The award funding can be used for research travel, to obtain materials, or for other demonstrated purposes necessary to the completion of the project.
In a statement of no more than 750 words, describe the project, specify how the funding will be used, and explain the intended outcomes (e.g. presentations, publications, etc.) Please include a timetable and budget and list any funding anticipated from other sources.
Proposals should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1. The Award Committee, consisting of the WiG President and two other WiG members, will consider applications and send notifications.
As soon as is feasible, recipients are expected to present the results of their research at the WiG conference (in a poster or panel presentation). Acknowledgement of the award in publications is expected.
